Get vaccinated! National Vaccination Week 2026 arrives
The Ministry of Health has just set off the alarm – in a good way – with the official announcement: National Vaccination Week starts on April 25 and extends until May 2. The motto is clear: “Vaccinating is loving.” And it’s no wonder.
This is not just a local event. It is part of the great umbrella of Vaccination Week in the Americas and World Immunization Week. The mission: prevent diseases and, above all, recover ground in coverage that has escaped us.
“Vaccines are safe, free and essential to protect individual and collective health,” said the Secretariat.
Who are they aimed at?
There are no exclusions. The campaign aims to:
- Girls and boys
- Teenagers
- Adults
- Pregnant women
- Older adults
- People at risk
The objective is to close incomplete schemes and increase those coverages that are so worrying.
What vaccines will be available?
All of the national scheme, free of charge. This includes:
- BCG and hepatitis B for newborns.
- Hexavalent, pneumococcal and rotavirus for children under one year of age.
- Triple viral for children.
- HPV, seasonal influenza and COVID-19 for specific groups.
Where and how to apply them?
The doses will be in:
- Medical units.
- Semi-fixed positions in busy areas.
- Mobile brigades that will reach rural communities and difficult places.
In addition, there will be house-to-house visits, booklet reviews and campaigns to raise awareness. The Secretariat insists: citizen participation is key to achieving national goals.
So now you know: from April 25 to May 2, complete schemes. It’s free, it’s safe and it’s love.
