The party at the Guadalajara Metropolitan Aquatic Center did not end with the gold for Osmar Olvera and Juan Celaya. Hours later, the Mexican divers lit up the stands again.
Gabriela Agúndez, Alejandra Estudillo, Suri Cueva and Adriana Torres jumped from the 10-meter platform with a clear goal: to maintain tricolor dominance in the Mexico Diving Cup. And they did it.
Mexican duos on the podium
With the support of the Guadalajara public, the two national couples responded with high-level executions. The fight for first place was intense against a Chinese duo that reached 315.78 points. But Mexico placed two teams on the podium.
The best performance was by Gabriela Agúndez and Alejandra Estudillo. They showed solid synchronicity and scored 288.42 points after six dives, enough for the silver medal.
For their part, Suri Cueva and Adriana Torres won bronze with 284.64 units. His performance also drew applause in the venue.
“We are happy to compete at home and for the result. It is a very even competition, it is the details that define it. We closed the last competition of the year with a medal,” declared Gabriela Agúndez.
The event confirmed the good moment of the Mexican women’s platform. The divers demonstrated that national talent continues to bear fruit at home and against world powers.
