The Mexican National Team shared its official photograph for the 2026 World Cup. Nine days before the start of the tournament, the team continues its preparation.
Session details
The image was taken at the National Museum of Anthropology, in front of the Stone of the Sun, also known as the Aztec Calendar. In it appear the technical director Javier Aguirre and the 26 footballers, each one with his shirt showing his number and last name.
In another shot, next to the same Mexican sculpture, they pose with the official suit accompanied by Aguirre’s coaching staff, as well as by Mikel Arriola (commissioner of the FMF), Ivar Sisniega (executive president) and Duilio Davino (sports director of the Senior National Team).
The team toured the Mexica Room of the museum, where they learned about pieces related to the ball game, one of the most representative sports expressions of the native cultures of Mexico. They also observed the Teocalli of the Sacred War, a monolith that contains one of the oldest representations of the founding of Mexico-Tenochtitlan and the symbol of the eagle on the cactus of the National Shield.
The visit concluded at “El Paraguas”, the museum’s emblematic fountain. The activity sought to strengthen the team’s connection with Mexican culture before the World Cup.
