The raw testimony of the Blink-182 bassist
Renowned musician Mark Hoppus, co-founder of the iconic band Blink-182, shared intimate details about his struggle with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in a moving interview with The Guardian. The artist admitted that, during the most critical moments, he doubted his survival.
A devastating diagnosis
In 2021, at age 53, Hoppus received the diagnosis of stage 4 cancer, news that shocked the music community and his followers. Lymphoma, a type of neoplasm that affects the lymphatic system, required aggressive treatment.
After months of therapy and constant struggle, the bassist announced in September of that same year his complete remission: “Free of cancer,” he declared then. His testimony highlights not only the physical challenges, but also the emotional ones that this disease entails.
