Anjelica Huston talks about her cancer diagnosis and recovery
The renowned Oscar-winning actress Anjelica Huston confirmed in an interview with People that she was diagnosed with cancer six years ago. At 73 years old, the artist claimed to be cured and shared how this experience changed her approach to life.
An unexpected diagnosis and its impact
The discovery of the disease occurred shortly after the premiere of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019), where he shared the scene with Keanu Reeves. Huston chose to keep his condition private during the treatment, which lasted until 2021. From his residence in California, he recounted the process in detail, although without specifying the type of cancer.
“It was a big shock, but it taught me not to take life so seriously,” he confessed. The actress emphasized how the disease redefined her priorities: “Now I choose to laugh and not give too much importance to trivial things.”
Recovery and future projects
With more than four years without relapses, Huston considers this milestone crucial in his recovery. During that period, she dedicated herself to work as a narrator in animated and documentary projects, away from the media spotlight.
“Breaking this mark is fantastic. I am very lucky and I thank my doctors,” he expressed. Currently, the actress is preparing her return to the big screen with Ballerina (spin-off of John Wick) and an adaptation of Agatha Christie.
