Green Brother has his LEGO moment
Forget children’s sets for a second. LEGO and Nintendo just released something designed specifically for us, those of us who grew up playing Mario Kart and now have a salary (and nostalgia) to spend. It’s called “Mario Kart: Luigi & Mach 8” and it’s pure collector vibes.
The news came this MAR10 Day, the annual celebration of the mustachioed plumber. But this time, the focus is not on Mario, but on his eternal companion of adventures (and sometimes shadows).
“This piece joins the Super Mario x LEGO line, and complements the previously released figure, inspired by the universe’s star character, Mario.”
Details that will make your inner 12-year-old self happy
This is not just any toy. With 2,234 pieces, it is clearly aimed at adults. The pre-sale is already active on the official LEGO website, although the official launch will be on April 1. The price in Mexico is around $4,299 pesos.
What does it bring? An articulated Luigi figure, steering that works, an exhaust with rotating flames (yes!) and even a special stand to display the kart in full skid. You can even roll it off the stand. That is, it is to put together, admire and maybe do vroom vroom when no one sees you.
It is another step in that LEGO line for adults that understands that our passion for video games did not disappear; It only became more expensive. Now we just have to wait for them to make one of Bowser.
