Night of downloads and bagpipes
The lights went out around 8:30 p.m. at the Palacio de los Deportes. Electric guitars, flashes from the ceiling, drums and bass intensified. A loud explosion preceded the shout: “Are you ready?”
Korn appeared before more than 18 thousand people who gathered this Tuesday, May 19, in CDMX. A rallying cry came from the microphone: “Mexico City, make some noise,” during “Blind.” The audience responded with a unison shout and raised hands.
Volleys hit trees and flames. A forest caught fire on screen for “Clown.” Despite the fire, the flashes continued.
To break up the rudeness, Jonathan Davis appeared alone playing bagpipes, which seemed to change the mood. He stomped his feet as his teammates returned for “Shoots and Ladders.” Then, the band dedicated a few words to their fans.
With “Cold” and “Twisted Transistor”, madness took over the venue. Long hair flew free in every corner.
After “Y’All Want a Single”, they left the stage. The stage turned red, a torch appeared on the screens marking the path. Korn resumed their places for the closing.
“4 U”, “A.D.I.D.A.S.” and “Freak on a Leash” were the last songs. Around 10:00 p.m., they said goodbye: “Thank you very much Mexico City, it has been a wonderful night.”
