The Korean brand that is approaching the milestone
KIA is about to make history in Mexico. The South Korean automaker plans to sell its millionth vehicle in the country by mid-2026. A fact that speaks of a market penetration that no one can ignore.
The growth is constant. In 2025 alone, they placed 111,172 units. That’s 7.3% more than the previous year. And they started this 2026 remaining as the fifth force in sales, with 7% of the pie.
Investment and expansion: the firm bet
These figures do not come out of nowhere. Behind it there is a clear expansion strategy. In 2025 they injected 60 million dollars to open or expand 16 service points between agencies and workshops.
Today they have a network of 123 points throughout the country. And for this year they already plan to add eight more. It is the infrastructure that sustains ambitions.
“The K3, K4 and Sportage models selected for the special edition have been recognized with the maximum five-star rating in Latin NCAP”
And they arrive with an important media hook. They will be an official sponsor of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and will launch a limited commemorative edition of those same models (K3, K4 and Sportage). Only 1,400 units, with pre-sales starting the third week of February.
A smart commercial move: associate with the global event and highlight that its star cars have top safety ratings. A combo that is difficult for the consumer to refute.
This is how a milestone is built: solid sales, constant investment in physical presence and campaigns that connect with popular culture. The million seems like just a formality at this rate.
