Justice Acts Firmly Against Organized Crime
Today justice in Mexico demonstrates its power! A federal court has handed down exemplary sentences against six members of the criminal organization Guerreros Unidos, sentencing them to sentences ranging between 25 and 119 years in prison! These individuals, responsible for multiple kidnappings in Taxco, now face the consequences of their actions.
A Forceful Blow to Crime
The Ninth District Court in Iguala found them guilty of serious crimes, including organized crime, kidnapping, and violations of burial regulations. The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) confirmed that the evidence presented was irrefutable, ensuring that justice prevailed.
Among those convicted, aliases such as “El Ramón”, sentenced to 119 years, and others such as “El Orejas” and “El Greñas”, who received sentences of 82 and 94 years respectively, stand out. These sentences send a clear message: the crime will not go unpunished!
A Long Road To Justice
The detainees were captured between 2012 and 2017 thanks to the tireless work of the Federal Ministerial Police. Although they had already been sentenced in 2022, a new judicial process confirmed their guilt with compelling evidence. Justice may take time, but it always comes!
In addition to the prison sentences, million-dollar fines were imposed, demonstrating that the judicial system not only punishes, but also seeks to repair the damage to the victims and society.
One More Step in the Fight Against Impunity
This criminal organization, also linked to the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa normalistas in 2014, remains under the scrutiny of the authorities. Each sentence is a step towards truth and reparation for the affected families.
Today we celebrate that justice is advancing, that the guilty face their actions, and that Mexico continues to fight for a safer future. Let’s continue demanding transparency and supporting those who work for justice!
