Juan Pablo Medina returns with ‘Doc’, a series that touches him closely

The actor returns to the screen with a series where his life and his character intertwine in a powerful way.

Life imitates art (and vice versa)

Juan Pablo Medina is back. And it couldn’t be a more personal project. This March 4, Doc arrives on Netflix, a series where the actor plays a doctor who loses his memory of the last twelve years.

But here’s the detail: the plot talks about reconstruction, starting from scratch. And Juan Pablo knows something about that.

“It is a story of second chances. That does not have to be adapted to any latitude, it is something human anywhere,”

says Francisco Franco, the director. And he is right. After what the actor experienced – that thrombosis, that amputation – returning to a set is not just work. It is a testimony.

More than a script

For Franco, Juan Pablo’s work not only supports the series (which is an adaptation of an Italian format). It defines it.

“Juan Pablo has given his Doc a very great dimension, from what he understands and lives. His presence has been defining,”

explains. The character, Andrés Ferrara, wakes up without memories after an attempt on his life. A powerful metaphor for starting over.

“He is someone who is discovering who he was,” adds the director. And one can’t help but think of parallels.

The series does not only speak of male vulnerability, Franco insists, but also of human vulnerability. That’s where resilience comes from. And the casting is complemented by Gabriela de la Garza, Iván Sánchez and Erick Chapa.

So get ready. It’s not just another medical show. It is the true story of a guy who walked again – literally and figuratively – to tell it.

Fan kisses Shakira during concert in New York

An unexpected kiss between Shakira and a fan during her tour.

The moment of the kiss

During one of her concerts in New York, Shakira had an unexpected moment with a fan. The Colombian singer approached the first rows of the stadium while she performed her collaboration “Music Sessions, vol. 53” with BZRP, as part of her “Women no longer cry World Tour.”

A young woman, excited to have the artist so close, kissed her on the cheek. However, the push of other fans who also wanted to interact with Shakira caused the follower to lose her balance. His lips slid across the face of the “Pies descalzos” singer.

The singer instinctively turned her face away, but showed no discomfort. Seeing the young woman, he smiled at her and squeezed her hand before leaving. The video of the meeting spread quickly on social networks.

Divided reactions

In the comments, some users considered the fan’s reaction normal and assured that they would do the same. Others, however, expressed displeasure and pointed out that followers should respect the artists’ personal space.

Shakira gave three concerts in New York and one more in New Jersey after her participation in the World Cup final. The show’s itinerary follows the same structure throughout the tour.

The 32-year-old British actor will take on the legacy of Wakanda.

A new king for Wakanda

Marvel Studios closed its panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 with an expected announcement. Ryan Coogler took the stage to confirm that David Jonsson will play T’Challa II, the son of King T’Challa, in Black Panther II. The film will hit theaters on December 15, 2028.

The news surprised followers. Rumors circulated for months about who would inherit Wakanda’s legacy, but few were betting on the 32-year-old British actor. In recent years, Jonsson has become one of the promises of Hollywood.
