The answer that no one expected
José Emilio Fernández Levy, the youngest son of the late actress Mariana Levy, did not remain silent. After the letter that his father, José María Fernández ‘El Pirru’, shared with the media this week, the young actor in training decided to respond. And boy did he do it.
The reconciliation that José Emilio was looking for came up against an unexpected condition. According to his words, his father would have made it a requirement to fix things that he give him the money from the sale of the house in Cuernavaca that belonged to Mariana.
“The father I needed no longer exists for me, not because he has died physically, but because he was never emotionally dead; today I don’t know who you are”
A letter that hurts
The letter from ‘El Pirru’ was described by many as offensive and aggressive. In it, the driver listed his son’s alleged defects and even used the phrase “failed genetic combination”. Strong words that resonated on networks and in the middle of the show.
But José Emilio, who studies acting at Televisa’s CEA, proved to have a different background. His response was measured but forceful: he regretted not having had a real mother or father and confessed that he was ready to move on.
“I need to let go of this weight and move on with my life after having opened my eyes to who my dad really is”
The family background
Mariana Levy died in 2005, leaving three children: María (from her first marriage with Ariel López Padilla), Paula and José Emilio (with ‘El Pirru’). After his death, the minors were left in the care of their grandmother Talina Fernández and ‘El Pirru’ himself.
Today, while María is a photographer and Paula aspires to the artistic medium, it is José Emilio who has borne the brunt of the disputes over inheritance. A sad story that seems taken from a soap opera, but with very real tears.
At the end of the day, beyond the houses and the money, what is clear is the pain of a young man who only wanted a father. And that is something that no inheritance can buy.
