English debut in Dallas
The England National Team begins its participation in the 2026 World Cup this Wednesday, June 17. They will face Croatia at the Dallas stadium, in Group L, where Ghana and Panama also compete. The team led by Thomas Tuchel arrives as one of the strongest in the competition.
Confirmed withdrawal
However, the Three Lions will be without Tino Livramento. The right-back suffered a calf injury during training on Sunday. The English Federation announced it on social networks:
“Tino Livramento has withdrawn from the Three Lions squad due to injury. We are heartbroken for you, Tino, and wish you a speedy recovery.”
Newcastle United, the player’s club, detailed that the injury occurred on Sunday afternoon. An MRI on Monday confirmed that he will not be able to continue in the tournament. Livramento, 23, will miss his first World Cup experience and return to Newcastle for rehabilitation.
Immediate replacement
Thomas Tuchel chose Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah as a replacement. England welcomed him with a message: “Welcome back to the Three Lions team.” Chalobah has not yet joined the camp in Kansas City, but will do so soon.
This Tuesday, the team will travel to Texas after its morning training. They will offer a press conference with Tuchel and Harry Kane prior to the debut.
