Green is no longer a vase
Carlos Puente, coordinator of the Green Party in Deputies, issued a warning with a smile: his party is ready to fight all the 2027 candidacies. Pressure on Morena and the PT? He says no, but the message is clear.
“We have cards for everything,” he said at the conference.
What’s behind the speech?
The Green boasts a national structure, from governorships to councillors. Puente insists: this is not a threat, it is “internal strength.” Of course, just when the negotiating tables with their allies start.
Key fact: They are going for 17 governorships, all the districts and city councils. It’s no small thing.
Elephant memory
Here’s the trick: the PVEM always plays at being the docile ally, but when the candidates get closer, it sticks out its elbows. Puente wraps it in language of “dialogue and respect,” but the real message is: without green quotas, there is no coalition.
The curious thing is that they promise agreements in an “environment of respect” just when Morena and the PT are also sharpening their lists. Who cracks first?
What they didn’t say
None mentioned Morena’s internal conflicts over the candidates. The Green knows that the more divisions there are in the large ally, the more space they gain. Perfect timing to remember that they have “enough pictures”.
Translation: If Morena does not give in, Green can go alone. Would you dare? History says no, but the discourse has already changed.
