Federal support for housing in Durango
The governor of Durango, Esteban Villegas, thanked President Claudia Sheinbaum for her support of the Hogares del Bienestar program. During a morning link from the National Palace, the PRI highlighted the delivery of 450 houses in the entity.
“We are grateful to you, President, for this program that is reaching the most needy families,” said Villegas.
He explained that the state and municipal governments donated the land and exempted taxes, in coordination with the mayor of the capital.
Villegas also highlighted an investment of 1.6 billion dollars by the Fermachem company in Durango. “For those who do not believe,” he said.
Growth in the housing target
Edna Vega, Secretary of Agrarian Development, explained that the initial projection was 11,200 homes, but it was increased to 34,745. The total investment amounts to 20 billion pesos in the state.
Octavio Romero, head of Infonavit, reported that there are already 90 subdivisions in the country, of which 32 are exhausted. In total, more than 22,700 homes have been placed.
The program seeks to serve families that previously could not access financing.
