Xalapa, Veracruz.– With the objective of strengthening the livestock sector under a vision of responsible and sustainable development, the Government of Veracruz initiated an inter-institutional coordination strategy at the instruction of Governor Rocío Nahle García.
In this framework, the heads of the Secretariat of Economic and Port Development (Sedecop), Ernesto Pérez Astorga; from the Secretariat of Agricultural, Rural and Fisheries Development (Sedarpa), Rodrigo Calderón Salas; and from the Ministry of the Environment (Sedema), Luz Mariela Zaleta Mendoza, held a working meeting to address the main needs of the sector and define joint lines of action.
The state administration seeks to promote the growth of livestock production with sustainability criteria, in order to guarantee its competitiveness in both the national and international markets. This first meeting marks the beginning of a collaboration agenda aimed at consolidating a direct relationship with Veracruz producers, through the articulation of economic, agricultural and environmental policies.
According to the authorities, coordination will allow strengthening productive development programs, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting responsible practices that favor the balance between economic development and environmental protection.
To follow up on the agreements reached and learn about the current programs, producers can consult the official channels of Sedarpa, Sedema and Sedecop. Each agency will offer specific information on technical support, environmental guidelines, promotion of the internal market, competitiveness, foreign trade, quality certification and attraction of investments for the livestock sector.
