Simultaneous operation shakes the gaming world in Monterrey
The scene seemed like something out of a series. Agents from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGJNL) moving in unison at four different points. The objective: establishments linked to businessman Sergio Gil. The reason, according to the authority, is to investigate alleged illicit operations and resources of dubious origin.
The red lights came on at the Red Casino, in San Jerónimo; the VIP Del Valle; another one in the area and the Casino Regio. Customers evacuated, doors sealed. A display that did not go unnoticed.
“Investigative acts carried out by specialized Units… for the possible crime of Forgery and use of documents in general, and whatever results,” stated the official file.
But this is where the plot thickens. Sources close to the investigation revealed that the threads could also lead to other serious crimes: document falsification and human trafficking. These are not minor accusations.
This is not the first problematic chapter for some of these places. In the past, Civil Protection had already lowered the curtain with temporary closures. Now, the properties are under the total protection of the authority.
What’s next? The Prosecutor’s Office, through its Specialized Operations Unit, weaves the network. Each seized document, each searched hard drive, is one more piece of the puzzle. Businessman Sergio Gil is now at the center of the judicial stage.
Meanwhile, in Monterrey, the message is clear: the gaze of the law is on a sector that has always walked the thin line between entertainment and the shadows.
