The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) began planning the Digital Investigation Folder project, a comprehensive strategy that seeks to modernize the administration of justice in Veracruz, streamline procedures and improve care for crime victims through the use of technological tools.
During her appearance before local deputies, the state attorney general, Lisbeth Jiménez Aguirre, explained that the new system will allow citizens to file complaints online, avoiding long days of waiting for in-person procedures. In addition, it will facilitate the automated monitoring of research folders.
He explained that the digital platform will allow cases to be classified and “traffic lighted” according to their social impact, which will contribute to better decision-making and prioritization of the most relevant issues.
The prosecutor specified that the project includes a first stage of six months for diagnosis and design, followed by a second phase of six months for its implementation, so, once in operation, it will represent a significant advance in institutional efficiency and care for victims.
As part of this modernization process, Jiménez Aguirre reported that the FGE has already developed a digital platform for the issuance of lost certificates, through which people will be able to obtain documents related to the loss of vehicle license plates, passports, licenses or other objects, without having to go to the Public Ministry.
He indicated that the pilot test of this system will begin next February, with the aim of evaluating its operation and making the necessary adjustments before its large-scale implementation.
Likewise, he announced that work is being done on the creation of Comprehensive Justice Procurement Subunits in the municipality of Emiliano Zapata, which will benefit residents of Apazapan, Actopan and Jalcomulco, as well as in Lerdo de Tejada, where attention will be provided to residents of Saltabarranca and Ángel R. Cabada.
These actions, he noted, seek to reduce citizen transfers, depressurize the San Andrés Tuxtla and Xalapa units, and guarantee closer, more efficient and dignified access to justice, under an approach of respect for human rights.
With these measures, the State Attorney General’s Office is moving towards a more agile, accessible and focused justice administration model focused on the needs of the Veracruz population.
