A CrossFit day that no one expected
Ah, gyms: temples of sweat, personal improvement… and, apparently, the most explosive work grudges. At Gustavo A. Madero, a guy (whose name we will omit because, frankly, he doesn’t deserve it) decided that three years after being fired was the perfect time to convert his old deadlifts area into an action movie set. He arrived armed at a social center – yes, that place where people go to exercise, not to resolve labor disputes with bullets – and took a CrossFit instructor hostage. Your argument? That he had been “unfairly” kicked out of the place that he himself helped to set up. Because, of course, nothing says “justice” like pointing a gun at someone.
The negotiation that ended in a sniper
While the neighbors were having breakfast, the authorities deployed an operation worthy of a Netflix series. The mayor, in his best “everything is under control” pose, assured that the negotiation was moving forward… until the aforementioned decided that injuring a police negotiator in the hand was an excellent dialogue strategy. Mistake. A capital police sniper, with less patience than an influencer without Wi-Fi, turned the aggressor into an example of why Rambo should not be played in real life. Three shots later, silence returned to the neighborhood, although surely with more adrenaline than a spinning class.
To finish off the spectacle, the authorities covered the façade with tarps – because, obviously, a crime in the middle of the street needs its touch of drama – and the experts came to investigate. Conclusion? That dismissals are discussed in court, not at gunpoint. Although, seeing how this ended, maybe the guy won’t have to worry about his next job anymore.
