New faces in the administration of justice
The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) appointed Susana Aletxa Macías Medina as federal prosecutor in Colima and Daniel Valdés Vera in Zacatecas. The appointments are part of the institutional strengthening strategy promoted by the owner, Ernestina Godoy Ramos.
Macías Medina has a law degree from the University of Guadalajara and a master’s degree in Criminology from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León. He began his career in 2006 in state law enforcement and then worked in the former Attorney General’s Office (PGR), where he held various substantive positions.
Daniel Valdés Vera, for his part, has a law degree from the University of the State of Mexico and a master’s degree in Criminal Procedure Law from the University of Sonora. He was a professor at the same university and from 2006 to 2026 he served in the Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Sonora.
Institutional strengthening
The FGR indicated that these changes seek to improve results in justice administration, strengthen coordination with local authorities and combat corruption. They also aim to reduce impunity and give greater strength to federal representation in the states.
