Almost two weeks after the death of Daveigh Chase, known for her role in “The Hoop”, the forensic report revealed the causes. The 35-year-old actress died from acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s department, cited by People. The document also points out chronic multiple substance use as another relevant condition.
His death occurred in a hospital due to natural causes, the report confirmed.
Days before, Roy Hernández, who introduced himself as his partner, informed TMZ that Chase had died on June 16 after facing meningitis and blood infections that led to sepsis. Hernandez started a GoFundMe campaign with more details:
“His condition has become critical and the doctors have told me that he may not have much time left.”

Daveigh Chase achieved fame as a child with films such as “Donnie Darko”, “Lilo & Stitch” and “The Hoop”, where she played Samara, a character that terrified a generation. His last appearance on screen was in “American Romance” (2016).
After a successful childhood career, he moved away from the public eye. In his later years he lived in Skid Row, a low-income neighborhood in Los Angeles, and struggled with substance abuse.
