Outrage grows on social networks against Pedro Sola. The driver of Ventaneando, 79 years old, expressed annoyance at the presence of dogs in shopping centers, supermarkets and restaurants. His words unleashed a wave of criticism calling for his departure from the program.
During the broadcast, Sola said:
“I don’t tolerate dogs in the store, dogs in the supermarket, dogs shitting in the restaurant, what is that, did they go crazy or what?”
Then he added: “Wanting to throw a piece of poisoned meat.”
The host Mónica Castañeda reacted by pointing out that this idea was not correct. But Sola continued: “Those who carry three (dogs) in a stroller make the owners want to shoot them.”
Pati Chapoy, director of the program, laughed during the comments and joked: “It makes you want to give them a card from a psychiatrist.”
The audience was divided. Some agreed that dogs should not be kept indoors. However, many condemned what they consider incitement to violence against animals and people.

The reactions have reignited the debate about animal respect and the responsibility of the media in spreading messages that could be interpreted as violent. So far, neither Sola nor Chapoy have issued statements in this regard.
