The return of Atlante revives the first Mexican soccer classic after 15 years.

The Apertura 2026 of Liga MX starts this week with a doubleheader that marks an expected return.

The most attractive duel of the day is Necaxa vs Atlante, the first Mexican soccer classic. They face each other this Thursday, July 16 at the Victoria stadium in Aguascalientes. The last time they saw each other in the First Division was on April 16, 2011, almost 15 years ago.

In Ascenso MX, their last duel was the second leg semifinal of Clausura 2016, where Necaxa beat Atlante 3-2.

Gilberto Mora rides in a BMW worth 1.2 million pesos

The young man from Xolos was caught behind the wheel of a sports car during his vacation.

The car that the young promise drives

Gilberto Mora, the talented 17-year-old midfielder of the Xolos de Tijuana, made headlines again, but this time off the pitch.

During his vacation, a fan caught him on the streets of Tijuana at the wheel of a high-end car. The vehicle: a BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, whose value is around 1.2 million pesos.

The model caught the attention of the young footballer’s followers. Although discreet in profile compared to other more striking designs, the car is considered luxury. It has a 167-horsepower 3-cylinder turbo engine, sports wheels, digital interior screens and optimized autonomous driving functions.

Mora will soon return to training with the border team, but in the meantime he is enjoying a few days of rest. His presence on the radar of European clubs and his performance on the field keep him at the center of the sports conversation in Mexico.

France and Spain meet in the World Cup semi-final

For the third time in two years, the French and the Spanish clash in a decisive semi-final.

France vs Spain: power duel in Dallas

For the third time in two years, France and Spain meet again in a semi-final. This time, at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, for a ticket to the 2026 World Cup final.

Recent history favors La Roja: victories in Euro 2024 and the Nations League 2024-25. But Les Bleus arrive with a thirst for revenge.

“He has many qualities. He knows how to attack and defend very well. If he has conceded only one goal in six games, it is because it is difficult to create chances for him,” declared Didier Deschamps, French coach.

The French coach insisted on the importance of adaptation and trusted in the offensive power of his team.

On the other hand, Luis de la Fuente recognized that this France has grown: “It has players of exceptional size. We will seek to impose our style and minimize their strengths.”

The match will be played this Tuesday, July 14 at 1:00 p.m. Live broadcast on Las Estrellas, Channel 5, Azteca 7, TUDN and ViX World Pass.

The winner will be the first finalist of North America 2026.

France and Spain meet in the World Cup semi-final

Mbappé seeks his third consecutive final; Spain trusts in its defensive solidity.

High voltage semi-final

Arlington, Texas. France and Spain face each other this Tuesday in the first semifinal of the World Cup, a duel that promises emotions. Both arrive undefeated and only one will be in the grand final.

France, leader of the FIFA ranking, has scored 14 goals and conceded just two in six games. Kylian Mbappé has eight goals, equaling Messi as the tournament’s top scorer. The 27-year-old striker has scored 20 goals in his 20 World Cup matches, including one in the 2018 final. He seeks to become the second player to play in three consecutive finals, after Cafú.

Spain has been solid: 10 goals for and only one against. Their defense, led by Unai Simón, set a record of 650 minutes without conceding a goal until Belgium scored in the quarterfinals. Lamine Yamal, who turned 19, has already beaten France in two previous semifinals: Euro 2024 and the Nations League. The attacker has recorded one goal and 10 shots on goal in the tournament, although he arrives after recovering from a hamstring injury.

“I confirm that Spain is the favorite,” said French coach Didier Deschamps, citing the difficulty of their rivals in taking the ball away from them.

Spanish coach Luis de la Fuente downplayed favoritism: “It doesn’t mean anything.”

The duel is historic. They have only faced each other once before in World Cups. France seeks to equal the record of three consecutive finals held only by West Germany and Brazil. Mbappé, starter in the 2018 and 2022 finals, aspires to the Cafú brand.

La Roja, for its part, will try to maintain its solidity and take advantage of the decisive goals from Mikel Merino from the bench, scorer of goals in the final minutes against Belgium and Portugal.
