The Broadway actor leaves us
Actor Josh Grisetti, recognized for his career on Broadway and his participation in the series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, died at the age of 44. The news was confirmed by his close friend and best man at his wedding, actor Rob McClure.
McClure posted a message on Instagram:
“It is with a broken heart that I share the news that the brilliant Josh Grisetti took his life on Friday (July 10); I am not prepared to even try to understand it.”
Grisetti also ventured onto the small screen with a role in the Prime Video series. He is survived by his wife, Mackenzie Grisetti, 24, who has not spoken at this time. McClure, who served as best man at his wedding, said:
“My heart goes out to his wife and family as they try to come to terms with this reality.”
McClure and Grisetti shared credits in the Broadway play Something Rotten, where they played two brothers. The actor recalled the years of working together:
“Some of the most precious memories I have ever had in life were with him, playing his brother on stage for years…communities around the world will not be the same without him, we love you Josh, it is a devastating loss.”
McClure announced that he will organize a posthumous tribute of which he will give details later. The theater community has expressed its dismay at this loss.
