A high-profile date in Los Angeles

Elliot Page and actress and comedian Julia Shiplett walked together on the red carpet at the premiere of The Odyssey, Christopher Nolan’s new film. It was their first public appearance as a couple after confirming their relationship at the end of June 2025.

Page wore an elegant black suit; Shiplett, a dress of the same tone. Both posed smiling, marking a firm step in their personal lives.

Page’s role in Nolan’s epic

In the film, Page plays Sinon, a Greek soldier and cousin of Odysseus. His character is key in the Trojan horse deception. It is her first major role since announcing her transition as a trans person in December 2020.

The relationship became public during the closing of LGBT+ Pride Month. On Instagram, Page shared a photo of the two on a street decorated in rainbow colors. Shiplett posted a video of the actor enjoying hot springs.

Before this premiere, they had already attended Milan Fashion Week together in September 2025, during the presentation of Gucci’s short film The Tiger. There they wore coordinated outfits from the Italian brand.

Page, known for his role in The Umbrella Academy, had maintained a low profile in the field of love after his transition. Now, his relationship with Shiplett is public and visible, without filters.

The alliance between Fortnite and The Odyssey

A few days after the premiere of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey in Mexican cinemas —on July 16—, Epic Games announced a collaboration with its popular video game Fortnite. The film, starring Matt Damon as Odysseus, now comes to the virtual world.

What does the collaboration include?

The online preview shows the Odysseus skin with leather armor, shiny sword and helmet. A pickaxe inspired by the king of Ithaca’s xiphos (inlaid with silver) and a bow-shaped backpack are also added. Also, a graffiti called “King’s Helm” (40 points in competitive cup) and a loading screen of the Trojan War. A second skin represents Agamemnon, played by Benny Safdie.

How to get the Odysseus skin

According to Fortnite, the outfit will go on sale in the digital store at the end of the week, probably on July 17. But it can also be obtained for free through the “Odyssey Cup”, a competitive cup on July 15 at 6:00 p.m. (Mexico time). It will be available on PC, consoles and mobile phones. To win it, players must accumulate points based on their place on the table and eliminations. Those who qualify in their region will receive the rewards automatically.

A second Olmec monolith crosses the ocean

The Colossal Head 4 of Saint Lawrence is now in the Shanghai Museum, China. This was confirmed by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH). The piece is part of “Sacred Spaces. Civilizations of Ancient Mexico”, an exhibition inaugurated on July 8 that brings together 803 pieces from different regions of the country.

The loan follows the one made in 2024 with the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum, where the Colossal Head 5 is exhibited. Initially, its return was expected in 2025, but businessman Bernardo Noval indicated on Instagram that it will remain until 2027. The INAH has not issued an official date for that piece.

Return agreed for the end of 2027

The INAH did specify that the Colossal Head 4 and the other pieces will return to Mexico at the end of the exhibition in Shanghai, scheduled for the end of 2027. The release of these monuments—nine in total, originating from Veracruz and Tabasco—generates debate about the balance between cultural dissemination and heritage preservation.

For now, the Olmec colossus joins the long list of Mexican treasures that travel the world, carrying with it the imprint of one of the oldest civilizations in Mesoamerica.
