Capture at the border
Elements of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and Interpol detained David “N” at the border bridge in Nogales, Sonora, identified as a member of the transnational criminal organization “Los Demonios.” He is charged with the crime of organized crime in the form of crimes against health.
The investigation began after an anonymous complaint about the operations of the group, which allegedly traffics drugs to the United States. The illicit substances would be exchanged for firearms and cartridges that then enter Mexico.
Judicial process
The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO) presented evidence before a judge, who ordered the detainee to be prosecuted and imposed informal preventive detention on him. The authorities set a period of three months for the complementary investigation, with the objective of determining their responsibility within the criminal structure.
David “N” was arrested at one of the busiest crossing points between Mexico and the United States. The FGR has not revealed any further details about his specific role within the organization.
