Rescue in Caraballeda
Elements of the Mexican Army managed to save an 11-year-old boy who was trapped in the rubble in Caraballeda, La Guaira state, Venezuela. The operation occurred on the night of June 27, three days after the earthquake.
The president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that the rescue was part of the humanitarian aid sent by Mexico. Images spread on networks show soldiers coordinating the extraction of the minor on a stretcher, while keeping him conscious and calm.
During the rescue, the soldiers interacted with the child by asking him basic questions—age, personal tastes—to monitor his condition and calm him down. The video generated reactions of solidarity and gratitude towards the Mexican Army for its humanitarian work.
