When your family gives you more problems than the haters on Twitter
It seems that Zayn Malik can’t get rid of the drama even if he has been away from One Direction for years. This time, the protagonist of the controversy is not him (for once), but his brother-in-law, Martin Tiser, who has just earned a VIP pass to prison for four years. The reason? Drug dealing, because apparently selling Harry Styles merch wasn’t profitable enough.
According to the Daily Mail (which, let’s be honest, lives off this gossip), police raided Tiser’s home in Bradford, England and found more than dirty socks and takeout. We are talking about crack valued at 17 thousand pounds (about 22 thousand dollars, because yes, we also do currency conversions here), heroin, cash and even materials for packaging drugs. All of this, conveniently stored in a garden shed, guarded by a large dog (because nothing says “low profile” like a Rottweiler guarding your stash).
When your backyard is basically a Walmart for drugs
We don’t know what is more surreal: that the brother-in-law of a former 1D is involved in this, or that the police found the drugs hidden as if it were an Easter egg for adults. But here we are, in a world where class A distribution networks seem to prefer garden sheds over clandestine warehouses. Efficiency? Lack of space? Who knows.
What we do know is that Tiser, 23 years old, already has a less promising future than Zayn did when he left the band. While the singer continues releasing music and being a dad, his brother-in-law will have to settle for four years in prison and the title of “the problematic family member” at the next family reunion. And be careful, because this is not a spin-off of La Casa de Papel, it is real life, people.
In case anyone doubts it, the authorities confirmed that the evidence was more compelling than a live performance by Liam Payne in 2012. Money, drugs, guard dogs… come on, the only thing missing was an “Open 24 hours” sign to complete the set.
Moral? If your brother-in-law starts building a mysterious shed in the garden, it may not be to store DIY tools. And if you’re Zayn Malik, maybe it’s time to check who’s coming to Christmas dinners.
