Border operation in Ciudad Juárez
A group of 37 people in a situation of human mobility was intercepted by elements of the State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE) in the border area of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. The incident occurred during an attempted irregular crossing into US territory, specifically in the Anapra Colony sector, near marker 342.
Details of the procedure
The intervention was activated after an alert to the 9-1-1 emergency system, which reported suspicious activity. Among the insured, 34 were adults and 3 were minors. According to official data, 22 individuals were of Mexican nationality (19 adults and 3 children), while the rest came from various countries in Central America and South America.
The authorities applied the migrant care protocol, providing food, hydration and medical assistance through the Mexican Red Cross. Subsequently, the individuals were transferred to the National Migration Institute (INM) to continue with the corresponding legal processes, guaranteeing at all times respect for their fundamental rights.
Dismantling of criminal network
In parallel, 11 people suspected of being involved in illicit human trafficking were captured, along with the seizure of two vehicles: a black Honda and a white Nissan Armada. The detainees, whose identities were partially withheld for legal reasons (indicated with “N”), were made available to the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) for judicial processing.
The SSPE highlighted that this operation included binational coordination with agents from the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). During a meeting at the facilities of the Mexican agency, it was agreed to reinforce the exchange of intelligence and the execution of joint actions to combat transnational crime.
Implications and regional context
This case reflects persistent challenges in immigration management and border security. Ciudad Juárez, as one of the critical points of the migratory route, registers an increase in illegal trafficking activities and unauthorized crossings, which requires coordinated responses between both countries.
Security experts emphasize that collaboration between Mexico and the United States is key to addressing the structural causes of irregular migration, as well as to dismantle criminal networks that exploit this vulnerable population.
