When the kids gave a baseball (and life) lesson to the country
Imagine this: a group of children between 9 and 10 years old playing baseball with the seriousness of professionals, while we adults cry about a bad day at work. That’s how epic the feat of the Treviño Kelly League of Reynosa was, which not only won the National Little League Championship, but did so with a score of 12-7 against the Liga Oriente of Nuevo Laredo. Yes, the same children who probably still believe in the Tooth Fairy.
From Reynosa to Latin America (and who knows if later to the world)
But this doesn’t end here. These little stars were not satisfied with being the best in Mexico (as if that were not enough). Now they have a direct pass to represent the country in the Latin American Tournament, which will be played in Monterrey from July 20 to 27. What were you doing at 10 years old? Because they are about to become legends.
The best thing of all is that these matches are not just a “child’s game.” Behind them are hours of training, parents who go out of their way to take them to games, and little athletes who show that passion for sport knows no age. And while we complain about climbing a hill in the gym, they run bases like it’s an episode of The Simpsons in Springfield.
By the way, if you thought baseball was a thing of the past, this team is giving you a masterclass in how to keep the tradition alive. And they do it with an energy that makes you envious: no coffees, no boring meetings, just pure fun and the desire to win. Who said that generation Z only knows about TikTok?
The next goal? Monterrey. And then, who knows. The only thing that is certain is that these guys already have more trophies than many of us have in our entire lives. And that, dear friends, is what we call early success.
