The Ariel red carpet illuminates Puerto Vallarta with stars

The elite of Mexican cinema shines with dazzling looks in the run-up to the greatest national film celebration.

The Elite of Mexican Cinema Shines on the Red Carpet of the 67th Ariel Award

The city of Puerto Vallarta has become the epicenter of national cinematography by hosting the sixty-seventh Ariel Award ceremony, the highest award granted by the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AMACC). The event, which celebrates the excellence and creativity of the film industry, began with the traditional and always anticipated parade of personalities on the red carpet, a preamble that combines fashion, glamor and art.

Icons and Trends on the Walk of Stars

The actress and emblematic figure María Rojo was one of the first to make her appearance, immediately capturing the attention of photographers and the media. Her choice of outfit was a sophisticated red dress made of floral lace, a piece that stood out for its meticulous craftsmanship, intricate texture and understated elegance. The design, characterized by its round neckline and the absence of sleeves, seemed to be a strategic and functional decision, ideal for facing the hot and humid climate characteristic of the Jalisco coast.

RelatedClassics of Mexican cinema that are still scary

Her aesthetic proposal was completed with minimalist-looking makeup but with high-impact elements: an intense red lipstick and subtle shading in coral tones on the eyelids that accentuated her look. A high ponytail hairstyle added a touch of freshness and neatness to the outfit. With an established career, Rojo arrives at this gala with a history of eleven nominations and three Ariel Awards won, keeping his name inextricably linked to fundamental films that defined the golden age of modern Mexican cinema in the seventies and eighties.

Fusion of Styles and Nominees of the Night

On the other hand, the talented Karina Gidi, widely recognized for her performances in films such as “Los Adioses” and “Abel”, opted for an outfit that defies traditional categories. Her look consisted of a bold jumpsuit or haute couture romper that fuses the classic with the avant-garde. The upper part of the garment featured a metallic texture in a reflective silver tone and an asymmetrical architectural design that was held on a single shoulder. The set evolved towards a more classic silhouette at the bottom, with palazzo-cut or extremely wide-leg pants in black, which flowed with elegance and dynamism with each step. Her hair, styled in soft, loose waves, complemented the harmony between modern and timeless.

In the men’s category, Eduardo Olmos, nominated for Best Male Co-Acting for his powerful role as “Luis Villa” in the film “La Cocina” by Alonso Ruizpalacios, opted for a refined sartorial choice. His suit, made in a light gray tone, radiated sophistication. The actor introduced an element of deliberate contrast by complementing his outfit with brown-colored shoes, a combination that demonstrated careful consideration for details and chromatic balance. The film that accompanies it tonight is one of the big favorites, accumulating a total of thirteen nominations, including the prestigious category of Best Film.

This fashion and talent show is not just a preview show, but a showcase that reflects the vitality and diversity of the current Mexican film industry. Each style choice communicates a personal and artistic narrative, contributing to the rich cultural tapestry that the Ariel Prize is proud to celebrate. The night promises to continue recognizing the creative minds, actors, directors and technicians whose work continues to raise the profile of Mexican cinema on the global stage.

Fher Olvera responds to Liam Gallagher for failed prediction

The Maná vocalist responded to Liam Gallagher's provocation after the Mexico vs England match.

The rivalry that no one expected

The last match of the Mexican National Team in the World Cup unleashed an unexpected crossover between Liam Gallagher and Fher Olvera. It all started when Gallagher predicted online that England would beat Mexico 5-0. The result was not what he expected: although the English won, Mexico scored twice.

The leader of Maná took the opportunity to respond with a direct video:

“Isn’t it 5-0, dude? Five more minutes and we’ll make them ointment. I respect Mexico, in good spirits.”.

And he finished with a clear message: “Get your bearings, guy!”

Fher also recognized the rival victory, but made it clear that the Mexican team fought until the end. “I send a hug to all the English, but he was killing them for the last twenty minutes,” he added.

Days ago, when Gallagher released his forecast, Fher had already used the same phrase. The Oasis singer’s response was immediate. One follower wrote: “Oasis 1- Mana 0,” and Liam replied: “Stronger.”

The exchange lit up social networks and showed that the passion for football also crosses musical borders.

Rafa González enters treatment for depression and anxiety

The vocalist of Los Recoditos prioritizes his emotional health.

Rafa González, vocalist of Banda Los Recoditos, announced that he will voluntarily enter treatment to address the depression and anxiety that he has been facing for months. Through a statement on social networks, he explained that he decided to prioritize his emotional health to recover and return to the stage.

Priority to emotional health

“I have been facing a difficult time with my emotional health: depression and anxiety that have been accumulating,” he said. “I have made the decision to voluntarily enter a treatment process.” He thanked his office, colleagues and family for the support.

The announcement comes after months of personal and media pressure. In March, his ex-partner made public accusations of alleged domestic violence, claiming to have experienced more than a decade of alleged physical, psychological and emotional abuse. The woman stated that the attacks affected her mental health and she began psychiatric treatment.

González categorically denied the allegations through videos and statements. He maintained that he was incapable of attacking a woman and that the accusations were part of a smear campaign. He noted that the case was in the hands of the authorities and he trusted the legal process.

As a consequence, Banda Los Recoditos temporarily suspended the singer from his activities. Although he returned briefly, he now recognizes that the accumulation of personal and legal problems led to the deterioration of his emotional health. Therefore, he decided to seek professional help.
