A window to the Mexican northeast
Since this week, the Senate of the Republic is hosting the photographic exhibition “Tamaulipas, pride that is carried in the heart: a look at the cultural and natural wealth of the Mexican northeast.” The exhibition, inaugurated by Senator Olga Patricia Sosa Ruíz, brings together 55 images that portray the diversity of the entity.
The collection includes landscapes such as the “El Cielo” Biosphere Reserve, the Cucharas mountain range, the Peregrina Canyon and the Bernal de Horcasitas. The “Cuera Tamaulipeca” also stands out, a garment with geographical identification. Along with the senator was Iris Lídice Francioli Villa, representative of the Government of Tamaulipas in Mexico City.
“It is a pride that the images of Tamaulipas are exhibited in this legislative headquarters, showing the beauty of its landscapes, the richness of its traditions and the spirit of its people,” said Sosa Ruíz during the inauguration.
The legislator stressed that the exhibition becomes relevant given the proximity of the Soccer World Cup, an event that will attract national and foreign visitors. “Tamaulipas is a land of history, work, culture and enormous diversity,” he added.
The exhibition will remain open to the public at the Senate facilities until June 26. It is part of an effort to project the state in strategic points of the capital, such as Paseo de la Reforma. The senator recognized the support of Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya and Francioli Villa to carry out the exhibition.
With this initiative, Tamaulipas seeks to show its tourism and cultural potential at a key moment for the promotion of the country.
