Outstanding performance by Suri Cueva
The Guadalajara diver Suri Cueva closed the Guadalajara Diving Cup with a silver brooch. In the 10-meter platform final, she achieved 310.03 points, only surpassed by the representative of China, who added 369.40. The public at the Metropolitan Aquatic Center celebrated his performance.
Cueva left his nerves behind and showed confidence in each jump. With the support of her family from the stands, she beat competitors from Canada and Germany. Hours earlier, she had watched her sisters Mi and Lia Cueva win the gold medal for Mexico.
“It is a dream to be able to win like my sisters did. They inspire me, it was special to win against our family. The dream is to get to Los Angeles 2028 together,” said the athlete.
Closing with 10 medals for Mexico
The silver medal had a special meaning. The oldest of the Cueva sisters shared the podium with the capital’s Samantha Jiménez, who won bronze with 302.15 points. With this result, Mexico finished the competition with a total of 10 medals in four days of activity.
