Actor Shia LaBeouf will return to court after the New Orleans prosecutor’s office formalized three charges of altercation against him.
The incident during the carnival
According to People magazine, the charges are linked to an incident that occurred in February, during the Mardi Gras celebrations. LaBeouf was kicked out of a bar for causing a disturbance. Police reports indicate that he attacked one person, left the scene and minutes later returned to attack a second victim. He was arrested at that time.
Days later, police arrested him again on an additional charge. One of the people affected stated that the actor was shouting homophobic insults against the diners.
Judicial measures
A judge ordered LaBeouf to enter a substance abuse treatment program, undergo drug testing and post $100,000 bail to be released.
So far, the actor’s lawyer has not issued public statements. The date of the next hearing has also not been reported.
