Sheinbaum reserves opinion on CNDH recommendation for Ayotzinapa

The president awaits more progress from the Prosecutor's Office and the Truth Commission before setting a position.

President Claudia Sheinbaum avoided immediately taking a position on recommendation 208VG/2026 of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) in the Ayotzinapa case. The president said that she will wait for the Truth Commission and the Prosecutor’s Office to present greater progress.

Sheinbaum explained that he asked the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, to carry out an exhaustive analysis of the CNDH document, headed by Rosario Piedra Ibarra. The objective is to define a government position based on the new findings.

“I prefer that it be reported what the data is, what the investigation that has been done, what are the new lines of investigation that were initiated after our arrival to the government (…) and that within that framework an opinion could be presented,” said the head of the Executive.

No participation of the Government in the report

Sheinbaum clarified that the Federal Government did not participate in the preparation of the CNDH report. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to the fathers and mothers of the 43 missing normal students to achieve truth, justice and locate the students.

FGR assures that Ruffo Appel is not persecuted for his ideas

The FGR presented 96 pieces of evidence against former governor Ruffo Appel for alleged fuel smuggling.

The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) stated that the former governor of Baja California, Ernesto Ruffo Appel, is not being investigated for political or ideological reasons. The agency detailed that 96 pieces of evidence have been integrated against him, related to his alleged participation in a hydrocarbon smuggling network.

In a statement, the FGR stressed that all procedures are carried out in accordance with due process and respect for the presumption of innocence. The evidence includes expert opinions in chemistry, mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as criminalistics studies and technical photography.

“Photographic opinions, to technically document the findings and investigative acts carried out; criminalistics opinions, aimed at fixing, preserving, analyzing and correlating the located evidence; and identification opinions, to know the type of hydrocarbon, whether gasoline or diesel,” stressed the FGR.

The link with the Ingemar company

The investigation also focuses on the company Ingemar S.A. de C.V., where Ruffo Appel is a shareholder. The company was established in August 2018 in Mexico City. Two months later, Ruffo joined the company’s variable capital. By 2021, he was already listed as a shareholder and secretary of the Board of Directors, participating in strategic decision-making together with José Merino Valdés Cuervo.

Merlin Duck, the duck that became a symbol of Mexican fans during the 2026 World Cup, now has its own line of footwear. The Panam brand launched a limited edition collection inspired by the animal, as part of the opening of its new store in Parque Toreo, Naucalpan.

The story began when a duck appeared at the celebrations of the Mexican team’s matches. She quickly became a phenomenon on TikTok and Instagram, gaining thousands of followers. A family adopted him and now his popularity transcends the networks.

Collection details

The design opts for a sporty silhouette in white, with smooth panels and light gray suede finishes on the toe and heel. The laces are an intense orange, in reference to Merlin’s beak. The pair includes five collectible pins with different illustrations of the duck, allowing you to personalize the sneakers.

As a special touch, the shoe has a metal pendant in the shape of a duck, held with a small chain. It can be removed and used as a keychain. Additionally, three sets of laces come: white, bright orange, and matte orange.

Impact and availability

The collaboration will be sold exclusively at the new Panam store in Parque Toreo. There will only be 200 pairs, in different silhouettes, with prices from 549 to 949 pesos. They will be available while supplies last.

A percentage of sales will be allocated to the care and protection of Merlin Duck, turning each purchase into direct support for the animal. Thus, a story born on the internet makes the leap to the world of fashion.

Another alleged person responsible for the robbery at the DIF Oaxaca falls

The seventh person involved in the 3.6 million peso assault was captured in the capital of Puebla.

A new blow to the gang that attacked the payroll of the Oaxaca State DIF. The State Attorney General’s Office reported the arrest of J. S. M. A. in the city of Puebla. With this, there are now seven people insured for the theft of three million 600 thousand pesos that occurred on April 26 on Avenida Universidad de Oaxaca in Juárez.

This is how the criminal cell operated

According to the investigations, those involved arrived in Oaxaca one day before the robbery. They stayed in a hotel in the Historic Center to coordinate logistics. The authorities traced the escape route, identified vehicles, telephone lines, security areas and financial movements linked to the network.

The first six detainees were captured on May 4 in Infonavit San Bartolo, Puebla: I. M. L., R. D. P. and M. A. S. V. A day later, on May 5, A. I. T. M. — identified as the operational leader — and J. C. C. were captured. The main organizer of the gang, identified as A. M. S. R., would have obtained and provided strategic information to commit the crime.

The seventh arrest occurred on July 17 on Segunda Cerrada street on 5 Norte, San Rafael Oriente neighborhood, in Puebla. The Prosecutor’s Office continues investigations to completely dismantle the structure and bring all those responsible to justice.
