President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that the Security Cabinet will present this Wednesday a detailed report on the reduction of homicides in the country. The arrests of officials allegedly linked to criminal groups will also be addressed.
During his morning conference, Sheinbaum highlighted that in May there was a 44 percent decrease in homicides. He pointed out that the factors that allowed crime rates to be reduced in states such as Guanajuato and Nuevo León will be explained.
“How did homicides decrease in Guanajuato? What was done? How did homicides decrease in Nuevo León?” questioned the president when advancing part of the content of the report.
In addition, the president indicated that the cabinet will present details about investigations, arrests and the coordinated work of the security forces to combat criminal organizations.
“It is a very intense job, with a lot of coordination with very brave people who face crime mafias every day,” he stated.
The presentation of the security report is part of the presidential agenda this Wednesday. Sheinbaum will also hold a meeting with Jamieson Greer, in the context of the review of the T-MEC between Mexico, the United States and Canada.
