The exit from the reality show that does not end the drama
Sergio Mayer is no longer in La Casa de los Famosos. They removed it this week. But you know what? Leaving that house only got him into a bigger mess: that of his future as a deputy.
To get into the show, the former Garibaldi requested indefinite leave from the Chamber. At first they gave it to him. But then, Morena suspended his party rights. A twist worthy of a soap opera.
And now what does Mayer say?
Fresh out of confinement, the actor is already speaking clearly. He says he wants to return to his seat as soon as possible. And he even offers to face anything.
“At this moment I am a licensed deputy. I will return to my activities next week, that was my commitment… If they consider that I have to pass an honor trial, I will do so,”
He declared in an interview for Telemundo.
Mayer appears calm. He insists that he did not break any laws and that he did everything with ethics and respect. It sounds convincing, but…
While he speaks, Morena is already moving her pieces. Luisa María Alcalde, president of the party, dropped the bomb: there is a process against Mayer.
“He has the right to return, but we also have the right to determine if someone has violated the statutes… In this case, given that there is a process underway, he could not return to the parliamentary group,”
Mayor explained.
Translation: If Mayer wants to return to Congress, he will have to do so as an independent. Morena is closing the door on him.
So there you have it. From the house of celebrities to a possible forced departure from his party. The reality show is over, but the political show is barely in its second act.
