The actor Sebastián Rulli surprised by revealing that he will not take legal action against the author of a video generated with artificial intelligence where he appears in romantic scenes with the rapper Cazzu. The material went viral on social networks earlier this week, showing the fictitious couple on beaches and restaurants.
Although his name and image are registered with the Mexican Institute of Intellectual Property (IMPI), Rulli chose not to sue. “It was the creativity of someone who knows how to use AI and, honestly, it’s kind of amazing that there isn’t something to prevent that yet,” he said. “As long as they do not attack anyone or promote things other than what one thinks, I am not going to generate any lawsuit or anything legal.”
However, the actor does not rule out measures if the situation escalates. “For now, it is also true that doing something with everyone who posts something harmless would be expensive (with lawyers),” he said. The recent publication in the Official Gazette about the unauthorized use of voice and image supports his position.
The actor took the opportunity to promote “Mi rival”, a soap opera in which he stars and which will conclude on June 28. “We are already in the final stage and I am eager for the comments to come with everything that happened in the plot,” he commented. “Things are coming that will happen very quickly, for example, a kidnapping and you’ll see from whom,” he said.
