The financial pulse of a nation: the priorities that will set the course
On the threshold of a new year, the heart of Mexico beats to the rhythm of a collective ambition: to take the reins of its economic destiny. A revealing analysis by the consulting firm Kantar unravels the purposes that will govern the will of families in 2026, painting a picture where prudence and self-management emerge as the true protagonists. These are not simple wishes, but a roadmap that defines resilience in the face of an environment of uncertainty.
At the top of this pyramid of aspirations, with an overwhelming dominance of 51% of the mentions, stands the purpose of savings. Although it shows a slight decrease compared to the previous year, its reign is indisputable. More than half of the population has decided that strengthening their financial cushion is not an option, but rather a pressing need to navigate the future. In a close second place, with 29%, lurks the shadow of pending obligations: the payment of debts. This goal, twinned with the first, constitutes the dual pillar on which Mexicans seek to build a long-awaited economic stability and free themselves from the burden that holds back their dreams.
From home to well-being: a circle of personal transformation
After the battles in the monetary field, the gaze turns towards the interior of the family sanctuary. With a powerful 39%, the purpose of making home improvements anticipates a year of investment in the home, where maintenance and remodeling promise to reactivate this sector. But the real revolution is brewing in everyday habits. Personal well-being emerges strongly: eating healthier (35%) and giving up bad habits (31%) are intertwined with the deep desire to spend more time with family (33%), drawing a virtuous circle where physical health and emotional balance feed off each other.
Other self-care resolutions remain in force. Losing weight (29%) and going to the gym (25%) reflect a constant concern for physical fitness and the adoption of an active lifestyle. The study highlights that, on average, each person in Mexico makes around four commitments for the new cycle. Along with those already mentioned, goals such as travel, professional progress and personal growth complete the picture. However, decisions of great economic importance, such as the purchase of a car, seem to remain in the background, evidencing an attitude of greater caution and reflection in family spending.
This mosaic of resolutions is not just a wish list; It is a social thermometer. It reveals a community that, in the face of challenges, prioritizes financial consolidation, home security and investment in health. It is the narrative of a country that decides to build its future from the foundations of responsibility and balance, where every peso saved, every debt paid off and every habit transformed is an epic step towards a fuller and more confident version of itself.
