The SAT scores a great goal
It seems that the Treasury got its act together. The Tax Administration Service reported that last April, 10.8 million individuals complied with their annual declaration for 2025. It is not just anything, it is a true flood of taxpayers.
Gari Gevijoar Flores Hernández González, the head of Collections, released the figure in a forum of the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants (IMCP). And pay attention to the data: of those millions, seven had a balance in favor. That is, most expected a refund.
Returns that look like finger snaps
The juiciest thing: more than 4 million people have already received their refund. In how long? On average, 3.9 days. Just as you hear it. The SAT had committed to doing it in five days, and then lowered the goal to 4.5. They surpassed it by a lot.
“The presentation of the declaration and the issues of return of balances in favor were a success for Mexico,” said the official, almost shedding a tear of pride.
The secret, according to him, was to work “very hard” all year so that the systems did not collapse. And boy did it work.
Hand in hand with accountants
Ludivina Leija Rodríguez, president of the IMCP, did not remain silent. He stressed that the key is in collaboration between authorities and specialists.
“We firmly believe that coordinated work between authorities and specialists generates better conditions for compliance, provides better legal certainty and contributes to the consolidation of our institutions,” he stated.
Translation: when the SAT and the accountants pull evenly, the one who wins is the taxpayer. And this time, it seems like everyone won.
