Deadlines by digit and steps for registration
The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission and the IFT require that each mobile line—prepaid or postpaid—be linked to the CURP and a facial photograph of the owner. The goal is to reduce the use of anonymous numbers in illicit activities. Failure to comply leads to suspension of service within 72 hours after the assigned limit.
The deadlines are distributed according to the last digit of the number:
- Digit 0: until August 15
- Digit 1: until August 31
- Digit 2: until September 15
- Digit 3: until September 30
- Digit 4: until October 15
- Digit 5: until October 31
- Digit 6: until November 15
- Digit 7: until November 30
- Digit 8: until December 15
- Digit 9: until December 31
Users can complete the process online or in branches. For Telcel, you must enter www.telcel.com/vinculatulinea, capture the ten-digit number, attach official identification (INE or passport) and complete facial verification. In Movistar, it is accessed through an SMS link or on its portal, where the CURP is registered and the identity is validated with the camera. AT&T allows you to do this from its self-management tool or by sending a text message to the official code with the citizen identification data.
Those facing digital difficulties can go to each company’s customer service centers, where support is free.
