The fiscal countdown is underway
Look, this is not a simple bureaucratic procedure. It is the annual game where you and the Tax Administration Service (SAT) sit at the table. And the deadline, April 30, is approaching fast.
The system is already feeling the pressure. The tax authorities are crying out that we not leave this until the last day.
“We urge taxpayers not to leave the process until the end, in order to avoid saturations,” warned the SAT.
Are you on the list of those who must declare?
This is where many are surprised. It’s not just for those who make a lot of money. If you received more than 400 thousand pesos a year for your salary, you are in. Also if you worked for more than one employer or left your job before the end of the year.
But be careful: those who had extra income also enter. Whether for professional services, own businesses (including digital platforms!), property rentals, or even banking interests.
The good news is that you can do it all from home. The SAT portal is available 24/7 throughout April. You only need your active RFC and your current password or e-signature.
The price of not showing up
Here comes the serious part. Skipping this appointment with the Treasury has real consequences. We are talking about economic sanctions that can directly hit your pocket.
Some RESICO taxpayers may be exempt, but that depends on the specific rules. Don’t assume anything—verify.
This is that time of year where the smart thing to do is get ahead of the game. Because in tax matters, as in the theater, arriving late can ruin the entire performance.
