The key show
Martha Márquez, councilor of Morena, did not come for the keys to the city. He arrived with a banner that said what no one wanted to hear: there is a lack of water in Aguascalientes. Just when Isabel Díaz Ayuso received the honor at the Morelos Theater.
“A foreign figure is being honored while basic problems persist,” Márquez said, while the public asked him to leave.
Tension on stage
Governor Tere Jiménez, imperturbable, did not even move. Ayuso did react: he took back the microphone to defend the institutional order and criticize the interruption. But the damage was already done.
Outside, more voices joined in. Citizens rebuked the Spanish president in a context that smacks of old politics: lightning visits, empty promises and usual problems.
What they didn’t say
No one mentioned why water is still a luxury in the middle of 2026. No one explained why such a protest is not resolved with dialogue, but with shouts. Official hypocrisy has a date and place: Teatro Morelos, Wednesday.
