A goodbye worthy of a superhero (but with tea and a blanket)
It seems that the cinematic universe is about to lose one of its titanic forces. At 85 years old, Sir Patrick Stewart, the man who taught us that baldness can be the most stylish superpower, would be considering hanging up his futuristic wheelchair and his impeccable British accent after finishing his work on “Avengers: Doomsday”. Yes, the next mega production of the MCU that we are all waiting for in December 2026. Basically, our favorite Professor
The bomb was not dropped by the actor himself, but by a leaker on a podcast, because in the digital age important news no longer arrives through a press release, but rather through fan theories and casting drama. Kristian Harloff, in his video that sounds like typical YouTube clickbait, declared with the confidence of someone who already has the popcorn ready: “Apparently, after this he is retiring from acting”. We, meanwhile, try to assimilate the idea of a world without new appearances of this icon.
His farewell, if confirmed, would be in one of the MCU’s most anticipated projects, before millions of fans who grew up seeing him not only as the leader of the mutants, but also captaining the Enterprise in “Star Trek: First Contact” or delivering heartbreaking performances in “Logan.” An end of an era, people.
The multiversal crossover that will change everything (again)
In this new Marvel installment, directed by the Russo brothers (the same ones who traumatized us with Thanos’ snap), the epic meeting of the Avengers, X-Men and the Fantastic Four is expected. This, friends, is the direct result of Disney buying Fox and taking back the rights to the characters, a corporate move that will give us what we’ve always dreamed of: seeing Wolverine and Deadpool probably arguing with Iron Man.
The film, scripted by Michael Waldron, plans to definitively unite the multiverse that Marvel has been building since “WandaVision”, inviting the original actors of the X-Men saga released in the early 2000s. A nostalgic move for those of us who still keep the DVDs of those films.
Patrick Stewart has been one of the most iconic actors in the superhero genre. His charisma, talent and that aura of infinite wisdom made him a beloved figure for several generations. If this is truly his goodbye, “Avengers: Doomsday” would mark the close of a legendary career, one that has left an indelible mark not only on the history of cinema, but on the hearts of all of us who love these stories.
Confirmed cast for “Avengers: Doomsday” includes, among others: Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique and Kelsey Grammer as Beast. A cast that will make us feel like we’re in 2003, but with a much bigger budget.
