Moisés Suárez calls for dialogue in CNTE protests

In the midst of the mobilizations that the CNTE maintains in different parts of Mexico City, the actor and teacher Moisés Suárez shared his position. The interpreter of “Neighbors” considers that interests are mixed in the movement that distort the original demands.

“Things are getting mixed up. We have responsibilities before society and we must not abuse that. Things must be done in a respectful way, I am of the idea that by talking people understand each other,” he declared to the press during the presentation of his new series, “Delicious indeed.”

Social responsibility and personal experience

Suárez highlighted the importance of social responsibility, a quality that he has learned as a teacher and as an actor. He recalled an experience at the beginning of his career: when he was playing Gato GC, a producer asked him to greet children with Down syndrome who were watching the show live.

“I went to greet them and when they saw me they gave me a cheer, they hugged me, but they were children,” he said.

That experience helped him measure the impact that certain figures have on the lives of others.

No opposition to the demands, but with conditions

Although he made it clear that he is not against the mobilizations or the demands of the CNTE, he insisted that honesty and dialogue are the most effective tools to resolve differences.

“You have to respect, be honest… I think this goes a little with what I said about the teacher and the professional, any job, everything with responsibility, with respect it can be achieved, not with aggression, long live peace, long live love,” he concluded.

In Baja California Sur

Teachers from Section 3 of the SNTE carried out intermittent blockades on two highway accesses in La Paz. The protests were concentrated in the Cola de Ballena area, towards the International Airport, and in the Calafia filter, towards the south of the state. Teachers allowed vehicles to pass through for periods and then resumed closures.

The mobilization seeks to pressure for changes to the pension system and improvements in ISSSTE medical services. Local authorities are monitoring the situation to avoid further road complications.

In Chiapas

Members of the CNTE took over the toll booth on the Tuxtla Gutiérrez-San Cristóbal de las Casas highway. This action is added to their work stoppage, which has now been in its 12th day. Chiapas teachers also maintain blockades at Pemex facilities in Tuxtla Gutiérrez.

They demand the repeal of educational reforms and modifications to the ISSSTE Law, in addition to better working conditions and social security. The protests are part of a national day called by the teachers.

Anniversary with social impact

The Israeli embassy in Mexico commemorated the 78th anniversary of its independence with a message of bilateral cooperation. Ambassador Einat Kranz Neiger stated that, in times of global turbulence, friendship between nations takes on special value.

The relationship between both countries has been consolidated through joint projects and knowledge exchange. The diplomatic representation recalled that ties have been built for more than seven decades, based on collaboration and solidarity.

Volunteers who repair the world

As part of the activities, the embassy reported on the participation of young people from the Israeli organization Heroes for Life in a school in southern Mexico. For two weeks, they carried out maintenance, painting and restoration work on the rooms. They also developed educational activities with students.

The initiative is inspired by the Jewish concept of “Tikkun Olam”, which means to repair or improve the world. These types of actions strengthen the ties between both nations and show the shared commitment to community well-being.

Second day of the Fan Fest in the Zócalo

Mexican and Canadian fans met this Friday at the Fan Fest installed in the capital’s Zócalo. The atmosphere was festive, with green and red t-shirts predominating among those attending, although t-shirts from other teams participating in the 2026 World Cup were also seen.

The broadcast of the match between Canada and Bosnia was the center of attention. Unlike the opening day, the attendance was smaller. This allowed visitors to have more space to mingle and follow the meeting more comfortably.

Despite the high temperatures and intense sun, fans remained attentive to the development of the game. Access to the venue was constant, with reduced waiting times at the entry points.

The event, organized in the heart of Mexico City, seeks to bring the World Cup experience closer to those who cannot travel to the official venues. Activities include giant screens, food areas and spaces for coexistence.
