A story of continental reconstruction

Mexican actor Emiliano Zurita, known for his roles in “Nobody See Us Depart” and “Zorro,” takes on the lead role in “The Future Is Ours.” The series, currently filming, takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. Zurita plays a prophet in charge of guiding the reconstruction of society after the global collapse.

The production brings together a top-level international cast. The Uruguayan Enzo Vogrincic, the Colombian Marleyda Soto, the Argentine Delfina Chaves and the Chilean Alfredo Castro stand out. The latter will play the political advisor of the spiritual leader.

Cultural diversity as a seal

The plot presents a scenario where the survivors are left under a new unified government for Latin America. Each actor will maintain the accent and idioms of their country of origin. This enriches the narrative and reflects the cultural diversity of the continent.

The series promises to explore the challenges of social reconstruction in the midst of a deep crisis. The characters must face their own internal conflicts and the complexities of a new world order.

Alejandra Ambrosi enjoys being the piece that destabilizes a family. The Mexican actress confesses that black humor seduces her, and that is why she agreed to join “A complicated family”, a series that is now available on ViX.

The production revolves around Adriana Barraza – remembered for “Amores Perros” – who plays the matriarch. Ambrosi plays the wife of Marcus Ornellas, one of Barraza’s children.

A character with shadows

“It is about a woman who has more shadow than light, ambitious, who comes from a wealthy family and feels that she is not up to the task,” explains the actress. “She demands more, she pushes her partner: a swimming pool, a new truck. She’s like a Lady Macbeth who pushes her children.”

Both characters become entangled in “a Machiavellian vibe,” according to Ambrosi, and face obstacles to the limit, but with a lot of black humor.

“A complicated family” is a production by Carmen Armendáriz, directed by Mafer Suárez, Juan Carlos de Llaca and Héctor Márquez. The plot begins after the death of the patriarch: his widow begins to show signs of Alzheimer’s while she must control the finances and behavior of her five children, all eager to inherit.

The cast includes Marisol del Olmo, Oka Giner, Mayra Batalla and Edu Maruri.

“There is no perfect family. Here it is like a kind of Mexican ‘Succession’,” Ambrosi compares.

Another active project

The actress also currently appears in “Guardián de mi vida”, a ViX and Las Estrellas production inspired by “Amor en custodia” (2005). In that story she plays the bodyguard’s wife: a character that barely existed in the original and is now key.

“She is a fun woman, armed, possessive and jealous, but talkative. She will do everything possible to not lose her man,” she details.
