The relief at the top
Ignacio Mier Velazco is already installed. This Sunday he formally took over the coordination of the Morena Parliamentary Group in the Senate, a position that until now was held by Adán Augusto López Hernández.
As the script dictates, there were recognitions. Through networks, Mier highlighted the work of his predecessor and assured that the former governor of Tabasco will have a “relevant” role in the consolidation of the movement towards 2027.
“Total and absolute recognition to my colleague and friend Adán Augusto, who returns to the territory to grow and consolidate our movement”,
expressed the new coordinator. The phrase sounds like a strategic relocation manual.
The agenda: total alignment
Mier wasted no time in drawing the line. He stressed that his appointment comes at a key stage for “the consolidation of the new federal government.” Translation: the Morenoist bench will maintain a legislative agenda perfectly aligned with the National Palace.
Finally, he thanked her for the trust and reiterated her commitment to supporting Claudia Sheinbaum’s “initiatives and government project.” The message is clear: there will be no fissures here. Group discipline above all.
This is how the pieces move on the Senate board. A change of face, but with the same compass pointing towards Los Pinos.
