Debut and show at the 2026 World Cup
The Mexico City Stadium field was the setting this Thursday for the opening of the 2026 World Cup. The Mexican National Team debuted with authority by beating South Africa 2-0.
The opening show featured a performance by Shakira, who performed the tournament’s official theme. Carlos Salcido, former defender of Tri, took the opportunity to take a photo with the Colombian artist, which generated reactions on social networks.
Salcido, who emerged from Chivas and had an outstanding career in Europe with PSV Eindhoven and Fulham, participated in the World Cups in Germany 2006, South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014. He also won the gold medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
