Stinging figures
The Ministry of Health has just released the numbers. And they are more itchy than the virus rash. As of February 23, 10,941 confirmed cases of measles throughout the country.
Last weekend alone, its special surveillance system detected 307 new infections. As they say, an outbreak that does not give up.

Here comes the good thing. Or the bad, depends on the glass. Of that monstrous total, 4,192 cases are from this year. That is, 61% of all infections were recorded so far in 2025.
Remember when this was a ‘sporadic’ thing? Well memory is fragile. The figures, no.
And then there is the hard data, the one that hurts: 32 people have died. Twenty-seven last year and five at the start of 2026.
The official version is served. The numbers speak for themselves. Or at least, that’s what they want us to believe while we check if our vaccination record is up to date.
