March is full of rhythm for CDMX
Get ready, because the city is about to rock with an absurd number of concerts. It seems that all the labels and managers agreed to saturate our month and our wallets. But hey, what better problem than having too much good music to choose from.
From the massive and free to the intimate and nostalgic, there is something for everyone. Pop, rock, urban and those ballads that make us cry in the car are going to be the owners of the capital.
The must-sees of the month
Let’s get to the point. These are the plans that should be marked on your calendar (or at least in your WhatsApp group).
Shakira changes the stadium to the Zócalo on March 1. And the best thing: it is a totally free of charge event. Recommendation: arrive early, because it will be more than a meter full at 8 am.
The Vive Latino once again makes the GNP Stadium vibrate on the 14th and 15th. The most important rock festival in Mexico does not disappoint. Two days to lose your voice and find your favorite new band.
For those of us who miss (ironically, of course) the golden years of Mexican pop, the 90’s Pop Tour arrives at the National Auditorium, also on 14. JNS, Magneto, Mercurio and Kabah… it’s like opening a time capsule with catchy soundtracks.
Ricky Martin sells out tickets at the Fray Nano Stadium, also on 14. If you don’t have a ticket, it’s time to console yourself with a homemade karaoke of ‘Livin’ la Vida Loca’.
More musical dates that you can’t miss
- Bryan Adams (Mar 2, Arena CDMX): For a night of pure romanticism and shouting ‘Everything I Do’ as if it were 1991.
- Sin Bandera (Mar 6, Arena CDMX): The duet returns. Prepare handkerchiefs for tears and hearts for sighs.
- Christina Aguilera (March 17, Palacio de los Deportes): One of the most anticipated international comebacks. Guaranteed vocal power.
- Tyler, The Creator (March 24 and 25, Palacio de los Deportes): Double dose of the hip-hop icon with his amazing visual production.
- Deftones (Mar 29, Palacio de los Deportes): They close the month at full volume. Perfect to shake off all the accumulated pop melancholy.
And this is just a summary. Also stopping by are Matisse, Amanda Miguel (yes, dust off those eighties hits!), Aleks Syntek, Roberto Carlos, Djo (the boy’s band from Stranger Things), Kenia Os, Jason Mraz and Lucero.
In short: March will be loud, emotional and expensive. But above all, it will be memorable. It’s time to review your savings and choose your musical battle.
