An event that shocked the capital
The Mexico City Police made an arrest that has left many reflecting on the limits of the unimaginable. In the Gustavo A. Madero mayor’s office, a man was arrested while transporting a lifeless woman in a wheelchair, a scenario that raised alerts among neighbors and authorities alike.
The details that set off the alarms
It all started on June 14, when agents from the Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC) responded to a report in the San José Ticomán neighborhood. Upon arrival, they found an 89-year-old adult without vital signs, sitting in her wheelchair in the La Palma alley. Witnesses reported that the man, who later identified himself as her son, tried to justify the transfer by claiming that his mother suffered from chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.
However, the situation took an unexpected turn when ERUM paramedics confirmed the death and, during a preventive check, discovered that the man was carrying 10 doses of “crystal”, a highly dangerous narcotic. This led to his immediate arrest and placing him at the disposal of the Public Ministry, who is now investigating his possible criminal responsibility.
What does this case teach us? Beyond the tragedy, this incident reminds us of the importance of being alert as a community and trusting the authorities. Citizen security is everyone’s job, and each report can make the difference between justice and impunity.
